Research Sample Planner

About the Planner

The sample planner is designed to help you determine the sample size you will need for a quantitative study.
The calculations assume a sample drawn from a large population, as for example in consumer research.
You can choose the level of confidence you require in the results, either 95% (a 1 in 20 chance of the results falling outside the given range), or 99% (a 1 in 100 chance).
The planner is ideal for determining the accuracy of your results, or helping you choose the size of sample you will need to give you the accuracy of results you require.

How to Use

To use the sample planner;
Select the confidence interval you want in the results.
Enter the sample size you want to use.
Enter the size of subsample for which you want to measure the accuracy of the result (as a percentage of the total sample).
Click on appropriate update button to calculate sample size or accuracy.
The accuracy of the subsample percentage is displayed.
You can of course keep changing any of the values as often as you wish.
